Allan Webb is looking to recruit a Naval Technical Author to join our growing Naval Technical Publications Department which produces and updates technical documentation for a variety of military systems and equipment.

The AWL head office is in Stonehouse, Gloucestershire, together with a satellite office in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria.  Many AWL employees are operating remotely and embedded-in Client organisations.

We are looking to recruit a Naval Technical Author to join our growing Naval Technical Publications Department which produces and updates technical documentation for a variety of military systems and equipment.
Based in Barrow-in-Furness as a part of the Technical Publications Department, you will be responsible for the creation and update of legacy naval technical publications in accordance with standards and specifications relevant to customer requirements.

 

Essential requirements:

 

  1. Experience in the Operation & Maintenance of Marine Engineering Systems & Equipment (Mechanical or Electrical) with broad knowledge of the construction and use of Books of Reference and other Naval Maritime Publications. 
  2. Experience of the production and presentation of technical information in accordance with standards and specifications relevant to the project or customer requirements.
  3. Capability to evaluate and appraise source technical information.
  4. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office especially, but not limited to, MS Word.
  5. Experience of liaising with customers and information suppliers as appropriate.
  6. Ability to work as an effective team member.
  7. Drive and enthusiasm to achieve customer quality criteria.

  • Successful candidates will require appropriate security checks and vetting.
