Allan Webb Limited will be exhibiting at Railtex at the Birmingham NEC on 9th – 11th May 2017. Allan Webb to Exhibit at DPRTE 2017


Allan Webb will be exhibiting on Stand 86 at Defence Procurement, Research, Technology & Exportability (DPRTE) 2017. Hosted at Cardiff Motorpoint Arena in March, DPRTE provides both buyers and suppliers engaged throughout the defence acquisition supply chain with an invaluable opportunity to enhance knowledge, share best practice and showcase innovation.

Members of the Allan Webb team will be available to discuss services including Technical Documentation, Data Quality, Procurement and Integrated Logistic Support.

Defence Secretary Hosted by Allan Webb Limited


Allan Webb Ltd and BMT Defence Services Ltd were delighted to welcome The Secretary of State for Defence, Sir Michael Fallon to their office in Barrow-in-Furness. During the visit the Secretary of State met members of the team and discussed the various projects that are being worked on and delivered by them in support of both in-service units and new build programmes.

The Barrow office focuses predominantly on producing and maintaining specialist Technical Documentation for the Royal Navy, but also undertakes similar tasks for the wider MOD and also the commercial sector.

Both companies also demonstrated significant innovations aligned with work they are undertaking in support of in-service and future capabilities across Land, Sea and Air for UK MOD; as well as ongoing investment and development in the North West, including the Technical Author Apprenticeship Scheme underway in conjunction with Furness College.

World Codification Forum 2017 Gold Sponsors


Allan Webb are pleased to announce Gold Sponsorship of the World Codification Forum to be held in Melbourne on 23rd to 25th May 2017.

As the continued leading UK provider of NATO Codification services, AW will be demonstrating utilisation and expertise in the NATO Codification system with Managing Director, Steve Rigsby giving a speech on recent projects, innovation and particularly how Allan Webb use codification as the basis for Data Cleansing and Mapping and the outcomes this has achieved.

Ian Smith, with over 17 years’ experience in NATO Codification will be providing a workshop on Data Mapping as well as building on Steve’s speech. This will be valuable to anyone looking to improve on data integrity and efficiency or to gain an understanding of what exactly makes ‘good data’ and effective system linkages.

Also in attendance and providing a workshop will be Stuart Kelly, the Managing Director of ‘Through Life Support’, Allan Webb’s specialist Obsolescence Management business unit. Stuart has been providing Obsolescence Management support around the world for over 30 years and is currently President of the International Institute of Obsolescence Management and is a visiting Fellow at Cranfield University. In addition to this, Stuart has most recently spent several years as the UK MOD Subject Matter Expert and Policy owner for Obsolescence Management, for which he received commendations and awards for his development of this discipline.

There will be some other friendly faces in the audience and around the exhibition hall also. Allan Webb have worked closely with the Czech Republic based AURA on several projects, most notably having recently partnered with them to deliver training on their MC CATALOGUE Codification software as part of their successful contract with the Australian NCB. One of our partners from the recent Indonesian Power codification project, ESG, will also be attending the event as an exhibitor.

The Forum will host delegates from 63 countries and concentrate on improving the quality of supplier data, greater interconnectivity between all partners, opportunity for suppliers and consumers and ultimately better material identification by those involved in the Logistics Chain.

International Codification Training Success


Ian Smith, Training Manager for Allan Webb along with Codification SME Darren Iles has recently finished delivering a Codification Training Programme for the Indonesian Power Company, PLN. The training took place in Indonesia comprising of a Basic Codification Course, 3 months distance learning module and a week-long Advanced Codifiers Training which culminated in a final exam. 21 students attended the training which overall has been a great success for everyone involved.

Ian Smith said: ‘These brilliant results mark the end of a hard and lengthy training programme. Congratulations to all who attended and thanks for the great opportunity to see Indonesia.’

This training formed an integral part of a pilot project AWL are involved in which introduces NATO Codification to the inventory management within the plant.

Allan Webb offer training in a variety of systems and processes such as NATO Codification and Obsolescence Management across a number of mediums, tailoring delivery methods to suit customer requirements.
