About us page
Allan Webb Ltd is a privately owned, independent provider of technical and documentation services to blue chip clients throughout the UK and Europe.

History
Allan Webb started Allan H Webb & Co Ltd in 1960 in Hillingdon, Middlesex, as a Cataloguing and Codification contractor to the Ministry of Aviation, the War Office and the Ministry of Supply.

Sadly, in 1966 Allan Webb died of heart failure at the age of 56, and the business was left in the capable hands of his business partner and eldest son, Martin Webb. Alongside the Uxbridge operation Allan H Webb & Co (Stonehouse) Ltd was setup in 1970, in order to better service the Navy in Bath and GCHQ in Cheltenham.

Richard Webb, son of Allan, joined the Stonehouse office in 1982 after which time the business enjoyed successful growth and established its reputation for quality and innovation.

In 1998, Martin Webb and Richard Webb retired from their day-to-day responsibilities in the company.  Richard became Chairman and still has a hands-on responsibility for financial and accounting matters to this day.
John Hardcastle joined Stonehouse as Managing Director in 1998 and the company changed its name to Allan Webb Ltd in 2000.

Today, Stonehouse is the centre of operations and we have over 80 employees with the Defence sector remaining a key market. However, we have diversified our markets with our document management division, documentscanning.net, which is a leading provider of bureau scanning services throughout the UK.
