The Army Equipment Support Publication (AESP) system provides user/operator, maintenance, repair, installation and cataloguing information for Army equipment (excluding aircraft) and vehicle and workshop equipment for other services.
AESPs are structured in to eight categories of information covering different aspects of equipment support. These categories are further broken down into subcategories, and by information level determined by the role in which the publication user. A complete set of support publications is known as an octad, the publication set required to support an Platform, System or Equipment (PSE) is determined by the IPT in agreement with the Publication Authority.
Sponsorship of the AESP 0100 series of publications rests with TES-TIG. The series is now viewed as a legacy standard, however TES-TIG recognise that these specifications are still used to both create and maintain Technical Documentation associated with DG(Log)Land supported equipment.
The information contained within the AESP 0100-P series is being replaced by contents in JSP(D) 543 Chapter 3.4, this will allow AESP to be maintained while the new publication specification is being developed. The table below details the progress. Those AESP that are still current can be accessed in PDF format from the AESP number in the first column.
Each AESP category and its sub categories are detailed in the following paragraphs.
