Allan Webb Ltd are pleased to announce the award of the New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Framework Enhancement contract. The project involves design, build and delivery of the framework, including training design and delivery to the New Zealand Defence Force staff and stakeholders.
Allan Webb will be working with the New Zealand Defence Force in Wellington, New Zealand, developing policy guidance to support the NZDF in being an exemplar in defence capability management. This will include the processes and procedures necessary to tailor ILS solutions in order to support equipment through life and achieve optimum whole of life costs.
The enhanced framework will support NZDF with a whole of life approach that ensures supportability is built into equipment design and ILS packages that can be tailored and implemented appropriately; thus ensuring that equipment procured for use by the New Zealand armed forces is functional, reliable and cost effective.
Steve Rigsby, Managing Director for Allan Webb Ltd, commented: “As industry experts in ILS and supportability engineering, Allan Webb have vast experience in contributing to ILS policy, as well as using it in practice to support and deliver ILS and supportability engineering projects internationally. We are delighted to have the opportunity to work with the New Zealand Defence Force in developing their framework in what is to be an exciting and highly important undertaking”.
The combination of all of the support elements to be put in place by Allan Webb and the NZDF will result in defence programmes that are able to operate at maximum efficiency and allow staff and stakeholders to act with confidence. Allan Webb will deliver policy that addresses all implications of the ILS process from whole of life cost optimisation to safety and environmental aspects, as well as compliance with wider policy and legislation.
The resulting enhanced ILS framework seeks to benefit tri-service equipment and programme sponsors, end users and the wider defence industry; with the needs of these broader groups being encapsulated within the policy, processes and procedures engineered by Allan Webb and the NZDF.by
